Corporate Relations Division Corperate Relations Division functions as the medium that holds the control over the relationship between the National Art Gallery (BSLN) and the media, private bodies and the public. The division also plays important roles in collecting fund and donors among the private bodies and public for the trust fund for the development and visual art activities purposes. Aside from that, BSLN Corporate Relations Division also helps with the promotion of the local artists artworks for the marketing of them to the costumers with good prospects. Corporate Relation Division started to fully operate in the early of 2007 right after a year of the Organisation Restructuring. The division has 18 staff which is divided into different branches such as Public Relation and Costumer Service Branch, Promotion and Marketing branch and Sponsorship and Funding Branch. Corporate Relation Division also plays important roles in the intergration network in public relation, promotion and marketing dealing in and outside the country, as well as to initiate financial sources by creating a fund or grant for sponsorship in order to encourage and bust out the development of the local visual art industry. Even though the fund or grant is not fully implemented at the moment, the sponsorship and financial aids given by the generous corporate and private parties have been seen the impact, through the sponsorship of many activities like painting competitions, and exhibitions. So many efforts have been put in introducing BSLN to the public such as increasing the corporation and understanding about the activities initiated by the BSLN like exhibitions, education, conservation, and publication/production among the electronic media party, prints media, Painters/artists associations, art galleries and museums, private and public Art institutes, secondary and primary schools, governmental and non-governmental organisations, new talents, educated disabled children, professional individuals, and amateurs. Corporate Relations Division implemented the functions through dividing the divisions as below: 1. Public Relations & Customer service operates activities a. Costumer Service i) Counter Service Customer Service Officers were assigned to take turn in duty starting from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm to provide service to the costumers in terms of information, who come and visit BSLN. ii) Public Complaint There were only 2 complaints received in the year 2007. The complaints were made by the public and had been handled carefully and successfully. iii) Telephone/Line Service The quality of the service has been improved by providing a better telephone system, a conducive and friendly environment with willing officers in order to maintain a good image of the organisation. b. Public Relation Administering affairs regarding electronic or print media such as news coverage, media conference, slots in tv and radio about the activities held by the organisation. There were about 39 newspaper extracts, and three media conferences and two tv apprearances in the slot of Selamat Pagi Malaysia (RTM) and Malaysia Hari Ini (TV3) which have been successfully made with the collaboration with the KEKKWA Relation Division. Aside from that, other activities like departmental formal events, invitation, exhibition launching, and tribute visits by the honour guests to BSLN were also been handled by the organisation. The branch has also handled the guided visits for 62 secondary and primary schools all over Malaysia, and was responsibled in preparing the report of the number of visitors to BSLN.
