Statement:
Collective artists are bound together by shared ideologies, aesthetics, and/or beliefs. SULAPAN URUNG TAKA is to highlight the art community’s environment by showcasing young artists’ creativity and spirituality in the overall presentation. By living collectively among three major art studios (NafaSyahdu, Lakar Layang, and Empati) in Batu Belah Meru, Klang, The creative initiative aims to celebrate the diversity and skill of the 20 artists working in installation art as a visual representation of architectural structures inspired by the Murut Long House concept. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic strike, the idea of bringing the unity of the studios to the forefront has been envisioned. It is a way to celebrate the creativity of artists through their individual interpretations, as well as to demonstrate how the personal creative process can be a therapeutic element for those affected by the ever-changing environment. It was intended to be a form of expression that would allow not only artists to enjoy themselves, but also the general public to watch the creative energy that had been displayed under one roof. The installation, on the other hand, is open and available to everybody, regardless of background. It was a creative celebration and an introduction to audience as they not only saw it visually but also can walked around and experienced the structure firsthand. The rooftop of the NafaSyahdu Art Studio was chosen as a permanent installation regarded as a collaborative artwork and can be used as a gathering place for the community and the general public.
